|Subject:||Prof. Tito Boeri åÐ Bocconi University, Milan The course will focus on the macroeconomic implications of institutions regulating imperfect labour markets. In particular, we will cover the following set of institutions: employment protection legislation, unemployment benefits, active labour market policies, unions and collective bargaining institutions. The main results of the empirical literature will be reviewed. Attendants will also be provided with data (and stata programmes) allowing them to replicate some of the key results of the literature and possibly extend them in new directions. Each day will be devoted to a different institution, except the first one in which we will provide a unifying framework. Readings denoted by a star are highly recommended. 1.
