Interdisciplinary Working Group ???Minimum Wage?? , Institute for Employment Research IAB, Nuremberg, Germany
- October 29-30, 2015
- International workshop "The German Minimum Wage - First Evidence and Experiences from Other Countries"
- Nuremberg, Congress Centre of the Federal Employment Agency (BA), Regensburger Strasse 104, Germany
- Germany has introduced a statutory minimum wage of 8.50 Euro per hour at the beginning of 2015 after several years of experiencing sectoral minimum wages. This introduction is one of the biggest interventions in the German labour market in decades. Our workshop aims to bring together international researchers to present and discuss projects on minimum wages in a constructive atmosphere. The workshop focuses on the effects of (sectoral) minimum wages on all kinds of indicators (e.g. employment, working time, unemployment, income distribution, quality of work, labour supply, productivity, prices). We invite empirical and theoretical contributions on these topics and also presentations on data sets suitable for research on minimum wages. The goal of this international workshop is also to enhance research on the German minimum wage. Additionally, we give room to a poster session for the discussion of research projects (e.g. hypothesis, research design, data) in an early stage without explicit results.[gem?_?? den Informationen des Anbieters - according to site editor's information]
