- This twoday workshop focuses on the role of human capital and education in economic history. Can we distinguish between schooling, cognitive abilities, and other determinants? - Is there a special role for selective migration in the human capital formation process? - What about inequalities, for example, between occupational groups and genders? - Are there implications on economic growth and other spheres of humandevelopment? - Are the expectations based on Unified Growth Theory (and other theories)supported by the evidence? - Are there special archival sources for human capital measurement that have not been used before?
